If you are trying to locate DMV records in the state of North Carolina, the first place to start is on their website.  DMV records for North Carolina are overseen by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and their website is www.ncdot.org/dmv.

The website is well organized and shows what tyes of information is available on the main page.  In addition, there are areas to click on that take you directly to the section you need.  There are also answers to commonly asked questions.
