Bedbugs Symptoms Can Be Mistaken

When we were kids, we all heard the tale about /”bed bugs“/ from our folks, and it scared the dickens out of us then. Yet, had we been aware of what these bugs really were, we could have never fallen asleep in bed.

There hasn’t been an infestation of “bedbugs” reported in nearly 50 years, until now. These unwanted, sneaky little bugs travel from place to place in peoples belongings. They tend to live in places that we would least expect. The biggest mistake that a traveler makes is that when they walk into a hotel room the initially set their suit cases either on the bed or couch. If there is an infestation you are going to bring these little bugs where ever you go next with out ever knowing it.

Bedbugs can be very tiny, smaller than a pencil point, or rather large, about the size of an apple seed. The real issue isn’t their size but that the bugs like to hide out of the light and out of sight. They stay in their hiding places until late in the night when they emerge to find humans on which to feed.

As a general rule, bedbugs are brown in color, although the exact shade will vary depending on how long it has been since they fed. Since it can be hard to recognize bedbugs, even when you are looking right at them, expert advice is always a good investment when facing an infestation.

It is not always easy to tell if what you are experiencing is really bedbug symptoms. An expert is needed to tell the difference between insect bites, and a doctor is your best bet. A bed bug bite is very similar to a mosquito bite, so mistakes can easily be made by the layman. The bed bug bite may exhibit more swelling, or be more itchy. It really depends on the person’s reaction to the bite. It should also be red in the vicinity of the bite.

Your “bedbug symptoms” will disappear within a few days, unless you have brought the infestation home with you, then you will continue to suffer from reoccurring bites, until the infestation has been resolved. Not only does this make it difficult for you to sleep, but it is also not healthy for you.

As children our parents all told us the “bed bugs” story, and as it normally scared most of us enough that we stayed in bed and went to sleep, if we only had known what one of these bugs were none of us would have slept in our beds. Bedbugs go from spot to spot by jumping in your personal belongings. These insects live in places we would never expect. If you think your home might be infested, you should verify that you have bedbug symptoms. If you can see bite marks on your skin, visit a doctor and have him identify the insect or bug that caused them.
